When the glaciers descended onto this area thousands of years ago, they carved out some of the most fertile and beautiful land in the country. As they retreated 13-15 thousand years ago, they left behind what are today referred to as a Kettle, creating a dotted beautiful landscape of naturally occurring ponds and prairie in the heart of Waukee, Iowa.
