What’s the deal with LVP or Luxury Vinyl Plank?
Luxury vinyl plank flooring, commonly referred to be LVP, is a durable, affordable, waterproof flooring that is easy to install and maintain. Luxury vinyl planks looks and feel like hardwood floor but is usually more affordable than hardwood floor and can be a great option for projects on a budget and even rental properties.
Why should I choose LVP over real hardwood floors?
- For one, Luxury Vinyl Planks are waterproof. This means that they maintain their surface look and sturdiness even with accidental water spills.
- Non-Slip – Luxury vinyl flooring is slip resistant so you can install it in your family room, kitchen, mudroom and is the perfect option for bathrooms.
- LVP is also very easy to maintain. You will only need to sweep and give the occasional deep cleaning in order for it to maintain it’s beautiful appearance.
- DIY Installation – LVP flooring is incredibly easy to install and depending on the type of LVP product you buy, you can glue it down, click-lock or loose lay floating.
One thing to think about before purchasing your LVP is the location you plan to install in your home. Keep in mind that some does tend to fade in direct sunlight over a long period of time. Also consider that since most of the vinyl planks are not glued to the subfloor, they may move or bend when heavy furniture is dragged on them.
You’ll love this alternative option to hardwood flooring and save you some serious money too!
